Schedule Settings
Configure automated scheduling for scans, cleanup, and maintenance tasks. Open Settings > Schedules from the left sidebar, then click any card to expand it.
Eight Schedule Sections
Each section owns one type of recurring task. Jump to a section below.
You only see sections you have permission to view
Schedule cards are permission-scoped. If a section below isn't visible on your Schedules page, your role doesn't grant access to it. Cards are hidden entirely rather than greyed out.
Fields Common to Every Section
- Frequency
- Every few hours or daily. When hourly, set the interval with Every (1-24 hours).
- Start Time
- Entered in your browser's timezone, stored as UTC.
- Status
- Each card shows enabled state, last-run result, and next-run time.
Scan Scheduling
Runs automated scans of your Azure environment.

Auto-Delete
Deletes scan records older than the configured retention window. Scan warnings are archived before deletion, so audit history is preserved.

Audit Log Cleanup
Deletes audit log entries older than the retention window. These are StratoLens user actions (logins, settings changes, scan triggers), not Azure Activity Logs.

Run Now
The next three sections each have a Run Now button. It confirms the record count under the current retention, then runs the cleanup immediately.
Activity Log Operations Cleanup
Deletes Azure Activity Log operation records older than the retention window. These are Azure-side records collected by the scanner, not StratoLens user actions.

Resource Graph Changes Cleanup
Deletes resource change records older than the retention window. These records drive the Changes view, anything beyond retention disappears from that view.

Cost Data Cleanup
Deletes old cost data records. Cost data is stored as monthly documents, so entire months are only dropped once the full month falls outside retention.

Automatic Updates
Periodically checks for new StratoLens versions and, when enabled, installs matching versions automatically. Pick a release track under Auto-update to: Release (stable), Beta, or Alpha. Only versions matching the selected track (or more stable) auto-install. Breaking changes always require a manual update.

Schedule always runs
This section has no schedule-enable toggle. Version checks always happen, the Enable automatic updates toggle only controls whether matches actually install.
SKU Catalog Update
Refreshes VM SKU pricing and capability data from Azure. If this is disabled or failing, VM Sizing Recommendations may produce stale suggestions.

Troubleshooting
My scheduled scan didn't run
What to check
Confirm the section's Enable toggle is on, then look at Last run on the card. If the status shows failed, the detail will point at the cause (permissions, connectivity, throttling).
