Quick Start: Manage Billing

Find the billing toggle and review your plan, trial, and next billing date.

Billing is on by default

Every StratoLens instance includes a 28-day free trial. Billing begins automatically through your Azure subscription when the trial ends.

1Open Settings → General

From the StratoLens left sidebar, navigate to Settings → General and locate the Billing Configuration card. This is where everything related to billing for your StratoLens deployment lives.

2Review your plan and next billing date

The Billing Configuration card shows everything you need to understand your current billing state at a glance:

Plan badge
The tier StratoLens has assigned (Starter, Pro, Business, or Enterprise) based on the number of subscriptions and resources it's monitoring. See Pricing Page.
Price
What you'll be billed at the next cycle.
Next Billing Date
The exact date and time the next charge will appear on your Azure invoice if billing is enabled.
Billing Cycle
Switch between Monthly and Annual billing. Annual billing saves up to 17% versus the monthly rate.
Settings → General → Billing Configuration. The Billing Enabled toggle, billing cycle, current plan, price, and next billing date all live on a single card.

Plan is based on environment size

Your plan is determined automatically by the number of Azure subscriptions and resources StratoLens discovers. If you want to fine-tune which subscriptions count toward your plan, use Data Exclusions to exclude individual subscriptions from scans. See the pricing FAQ for details on how plan tiers are calculated.

Billing details on this card populate after your first scan completes. If the price and plan are blank, head to Run Your First Scan and return here once it finishes. The values update automatically.

3Use the Billing Enabled toggle

Under Billing Enabled, a single toggle switch controls billing for this StratoLens deployment. It's on by default (shown in green above).

Toggle on
Billing is active. When the trial ends, charges flow through your existing Azure Marketplace subscription as a line item on your regular Azure invoice. Your license auto-renews and StratoLens keeps scanning without interruption.
Toggle off
Billing is paused. You can turn it back on at any time from the same screen.

Click Save Changes to apply any updates to the toggle or billing cycle.

How billing works

StratoLens billing runs through the Azure Marketplace subscription you used to deploy the application. A few specifics worth knowing:

  • Single line item on your Azure bill. There's no separate invoice or payment method to manage. StratoLens appears alongside your other Azure charges.
  • Trial then automatic billing. The 28-day free trial includes every feature with no restrictions. At day 29, billing begins automatically if the toggle is on.
  • Plan adjusts to your environment. If your environment grows past your current tier's limits, StratoLens automatically moves you to the next tier. There's no service disruption, and the upcoming pricing on Settings → General always reflects where you'll land.
  • Your data is preserved. If billing is off and your license expires, previously discovered resources, scan history, and configurations remain accessible. Only the scanner is disabled until the license is renewed.
